OK! So, today is Independence day. The day when our country became free. Did it ??
Even after 66 years of indendence, do you think we are "Free" ?
With rising enemies from several sides, with the deteriorating economy, with low morals, ever rising gold rates and slashing rupee value, increasing crimes, low standards of education, more technology but less values, with more diversity and less unity, forgetting our cultures, cribbing youth, ARE WE FREE !!!!
Let me explain the present situation of our country....
Youth are the backbone of a country. But have they really understood this and are they doing their job??
I don't think so. Today's youth can be catagorised into 2 catagories:
1) Youth who are not at all bothered about country You must have heard teenagers telling-
Talking about India is just a waste of time!
India can never be improved!
Our National anthem - What is that??? !!!
What the hell are you talking about !!
These are the general reactions..... :-(
They do not know anything about our country. They don't know who is their CM, PM, President NOTHING!!!!
All they know is party, some jobless DJs, movies, actors/actresses, etc. they know very well how to argue and cheat their parents....
They are more into their own fancy worlds like late night parties, girl friends, boy friends, etc. I think these people lack moral values. The sad part is, when they grow up to be adults, they continue to be the same. They are still useless in some or the other way.
2)These are people who are aware of our country's situation. They know how things work here and they crib about it. Sad part is they think they are helpless and try to run away from the situation. Nowadays, a large portion of youth are unhappy with the present system. Corrupt politicians, reservations, corruption at every level, low pay scales in government jobs, etc make them think that our country cannot progress and they cannot do anything about it !! The result is they run out of the country in the name od higher education. Once they go there and get accustomed to thier way of living and get paid in foreign currencies, they will not wish to come back. So, it is done... Even though they call themselves as Indians, they cannot be counted as an Indian.
Very few people realise in the early stages and come back to their motherland !! I appreciate their courage!!
In such a situation, what can the elder community do ??
Either they have to sit and introspect the way they have brought their children or they have to sit and wait for their children to come back !!!
Coming the young kids, they are first of all amidst a very bad education system. An education system which does not allow teachers to punish and where teachers have more work than the students. Nowadays, kids are so much influenced by technology that they have no clue what is actual fun !!! They are never given a chance to play with mud or sit and listen to stories from grannys. Stories are in the form of CDs, games are with a click of mouse and buttons and vacations are spent at summer camps. First of all, due to apartment culture, kids do not have a place to play. They are stuck in house with TV, Computer and Junk food !!
So, this is how we are....
Hoping for a better tommorrow....
Happy Independence Day... :-D
